Hawaii Pacific University Athletics

Mission Statement

The Department of Athletics at Hawai‘i Pacific University (HPU) provides a comprehensive program of personalized learning and development to each of its student athletes, thus complementing the University’s academic and global citizenship mission and ensuring that each student athlete progresses to graduation. Student athletes at HPU choose to engage in the high-level of competition provided by NCAA Division II athletics, each taking personal responsibility to achieve outcome goals associated with Division II philosophy. These goals include balance, learning, passion, resourcefulness, community service, and sportsmanship. Upon graduation from HPU, each student athlete will leave the University with broader experiences, skills, and knowledge as resources for the future.

The Department of Athletics at Hawai‘i Pacific University further strives to develop and maintain strong levels of mutually-beneficial support with HPU students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, friends, corporate sponsors, and the general public. To do so, the Department of Athletics designs and implements community engagement projects each year, and provides high-level, passionate sports competition in an intimate, ohana-friendly environment.
